North Central London Cancer Alliance welcomes the start of proton beam therapy at UCLH

Holly Norman, interim programme director for the North Central London Cancer Alliance, says:

“The planning and construction of the new proton beam therapy centre in the Grafton Way Building at University College Hospital is a great achievement, especially with all that we have faced over the last two years. We are delighted that the centre, only the second in the UK, is now open, seeing patients and providing this state-of-the-art treatment using highly targeted radiotherapy for difficult to reach cancer and non-cancer tumours.

“We congratulate everyone involved in developing the centre which will be of enormous benefit to patients not only in our North Central London region, but from across the country. It is wonderful to see this centre come to fruition.”
