Public and patient involvement opportunities

On this page we list opportunities for people to become involved in cancer-related research, engagement or consultation activities. Some opportunities listed will be conducted by organisations separate to the North Central London Cancer Alliance. There will be contact details in the individual links and any questions about the activity should be directed to the organisation concerned.

Cancer Connections training and networking event

On 14 May we are hosting a workshop to improve collaboration between the NHS and local voluntary and community organisations. We would like to invite one or two people to join the event and talk about how cancer can impact people’s day-to-day lives.

For more information, or an informal conversation about any of these opportunities please contact Fiona, fiona.martin30@nhs.net or call 07929069134.

Breast pain pathway

The Alliance is working with Trusts to introduce a new breast pain pathway. We would like to invite patient partners to contribute to the content of new patient information leaflets and the messages that are shared with GPs.

Cancer Clinical Nurse Specialist development lead steering group

This is a pan London project piloting Macmillan CNS Development Leads (CDLs). It aims to address the shrinking pool of experienced CNSs and falling number of nurses opting to move into this specialist role. We are looking for a patient partner to join the pan-London steering group to provide a lay perspective and to put forward views on behalf of the wider patient groups. For more information about the CNS project, visit here
