More than 31,000 women in the London boroughs of Barnet, Camden, Islington, Newham and Tower Hamlets will be offered YouScreen kits to carry out HPV tests in the privacy and convenience of their own homes. HPV tests can pick up cell changes that may lead to cervical cancer. YouScreen is a study led by King’s College London and commissioned by North Central London and North East London Cancer Alliances.
It is the first time home HPV self-sampling has been trialled in England and is being rolled out through 166 GP practices, as part of the national NHS Cervical Screening Programme. Read more…
