Celebrating cancer nurse specialists in North Central London

On 26 April the North Central London Cancer Alliance celebrates the invaluable contribution of cancer clinical nurse specialists as part of National Cancer CNS Day.

Cancer clinical nurse specialists (CNSs) provide vital care and support to cancer patients before, during and after cancer treatment. They are there to support patients when they get diagnosed, help them through treatment and provide essential advice and encouragement. During National Cancer CNS Day, North Central London Cancer Alliance is taking the opportunity to shine a light on the difference they make to patients’ lives in north London and beyond and thank them for their dedication and excellent care.

Ali Malik, managing director, North Central London Cancer Alliance said: “Cancer clinical nurse specialists play a crucial role in helping patients across all stages of their treatment. As well as delivering first-class medical care, they also support patients’ mental health and wellbeing. The care and advice specialist cancer nurses provide is hugely important to patients’ treatment and we’re incredibly grateful to them.”

“We need more cancer CNSs in London, and we are pleased to be leading a project to raise awareness of the role within the London nursing profession and to support future CNSs.
